Why IILEYA?

IILEYA, inspired by the Xhosa word for “layers”, speaks to the many identities, stories, protections, and social masks we gather throughout life, consciously and unconsciously, often from a very young age.

Beneath these layers lives something quieter and more essential: our voice, our roots, our deeper way of relating to ourselves, to others, and to the world around us.

IILEYA is an invitation to gently peel back what no longer feels true, tend to what has been neglected, and reconnect the inner and outer parts of our lives.

It is a space to pause, root down, and re-author the narratives we carry, so we may move through life with greater presence, meaning, and alignment with who we truly are.

"What happens to one, happens to us all. We are all interconnected within this wider web of life."

As the planet’s resources are eroding, so too can our sense of purpose, belonging and connection to ourselves, to one another and to the world around us.

About Me and The Practice.

"As an Ecopsychologist with a Doctoral degree in Ecopsychology (USA), my work is grounded in care, ethics, inclusivity and relational awareness.  Drawing on an integrative, humanistic and trauma-informed approachI accompany people and organisations in exploring the stories, patterns, and ecosystems that shape their ways of being.

Over the years, my professional journey has  taken me across different ecosystems of cultures, faiths and continents, from the corporate world of human relationships to spaces of counselling, education and community flourishing, accompanying and supporting people from over 40 nationalities.

This experience deepened my understanding of the complexity of human stories, the richness diversity brings, and the importance of creating spaces where all voices are heard, respected and able to belong."

IILEYA as a Consulting & Collaborative Practice.

"With IILEYA, I wanted to create pathways for living, relating, and working together differently; uncovering layers, rewriting narratives, and connecting the dots between our inner worlds, our relationships, our communities, and the systems we are part of.

Through this process, individuals and organisations are invited to explore the patterns, conditions, and narratives shaping their ways of being, fostering deeper awareness, more conscious ways of relating, and collective renewal.

IILEYA is a space where we can safely uncover, compost, recompose, and renew, gently releasing the narratives that no longer serve us and re-storying our lives in ways that feel more connected, grounded, and alive."
