Why IILEYA?

Imagine if we could remove our filters, our make-up, our social and cultural masks, these layers built one by one, consciously and unconsciously, since we were very little...

Imagine tending the roots beneath those layers, remembering our voice, and restoring the connection between our inner and outer worlds.

IILEYA is that invitation: a space to root down, peel back, and reset the narratives that no longer serve us, so we can author our lives.

Imagine if we could uproot those layers and rewrite our stories, to be more alive and aligned to who we are….

IILEYA in Xhosa means layers.

"What happens to one, happens to us all. We are all interconnected in this web of life.

As the planet’s resources are eroding, so are ours. Losing purpose and connection to others, humans and non-humans.

With IILEYA, I wanted to bring more care, ethics and inclusivity aimed at living, being with others differently, uncovering layers and connecting the dots between the human and the more-than-human in the workplace, in our communities and families."
